What is breathwork?
Breathwork is an umbrella term encompassing various techniques that teach you to manipulate your breathing rate and depth. Some people call it therapy without talking, because instead of analysing or explaining, you get to feel, release and shift what’s been sitting underneath the surface.
Through a continuous, connected breathing pattern, we begin to regulate the nervous system and gently move out of the busy, overthinking mind and into the body.
And the body is where it all lives.
Tension. Suppressed emotions. Old stories. Subconscious patterns we didn’t even realise we were carrying.
Breathwork creates space for those things to move.
It can help you reconnect to parts of yourself you may have forgotten… access memories and insights… and deepen your connection to your intuition and inner wisdom.
It’s not about forcing anything or having a big dramatic experience (although sometimes that happens).
It’s about creating the conditions for your body to do what it already knows how to do… release, reset and come back into balance.
Used in spiritual traditions for millennia, we are now fully understanding its modern potential whilst honouring its rich historical roots.

Who can benefit from breathwork?
Anyone looking to reduce stress, ease anxiety, and release muscular and emotional tension will benefit. Breathwork helps to ground you in the present moment, cancelling the fight-or-flight response by informing your nervous system it is safe. Practised daily, it can boost energy, strengthen your immune system, and improve blood pressure.
Breathwork can also encompass a spiritual dimension, offering a deeply soulful experience for many. As this practice enables the body to release stuck energy and emotions, many participants can experience profound healing. Personally, for me each breathwork journey feels like a homecoming to my true self. Read more about the spiritual significance of breathwork HERE.

The Breathwork Ritual explained
We start our session by taking the time to arrive fully and downshift our minds. During this time, we focus on relaxation and natural nostril breathing to activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
Next, we dedicate some time to understanding the awareness and mechanics of breathwork. This involves practicing deeper diaphragmatic breathing, allowing us to build control before we increase intensity.
Following this foundational period, we transition into cycles of controlled activated breathing, known as conscious connected breathwork. Here, we safely elevate our energy levels as we consciously match our rhythm to the music in the background. Each cycle concludes with two breath-holding exercises.
A typical breathwork session includes 3 to 4 cycles of controlled activated breathing, with breath holds between each cycle, wrapping up with a deep calming phase (integration) where the most profound benefits emerge.

"I prefer your breathwork sessions to meditation, as I find I can truly forget everything when I connect to my breath, something which I have always found difficult to do when meditating."
