What is breathwork?
Breathwork is an umbrella term encompassing various techniques that teach you to manipulate your breathing rate and depth. The goal is to guide you into different states of consciousness, promoting physical health, intuitive capabilities, and the release of stress, anxiety, and subconscious trauma. Used in spiritual traditions for millennia, we are now fully understanding its modern potential.

Who can benefit from breathwork?
Anyone looking to reduce stress, ease anxiety, and release muscular and emotional tension will benefit. Breathwork helps to ground you in the present moment, cancelling the fight-or-flight response by informing your nervous system it is safe. Practised daily, it can boost energy, strengthen your immune system, and improve blood pressure.
Breathwork also encompasses a spiritual dimension, offering a deeply soulful experience for many. This practice enables the body to release stuck energy and emotions, facilitating profound healing. Personally, each breathwork journey feels like a homecoming to my true self.

The Breathwork Ritual explained
We start our session by taking the time to arrive fully and downshift our minds. During this time, we focus on natural nostril breathing to activate the parasympathetic nervous system.
Next, we dedicate some time to understanding the awareness and mechanics of breathwork. This involves practicing deeper diaphragmatic breathing, allowing us to build control before we increase intensity.
Following this foundational period, we transition into cycles of controlled activated breathing, known as conscious connected breathwork. Here, we safely elevate our energy levels as we consciously match our rhythm to the music in the background. Each cycle concludes with two breath-holding exercises aimed at helping the nervous system recognise its baseline state.
A typical breathwork session includes 3 to 4 cycles of controlled activated breathing, with breath holds between each cycle, wrapping up with a deep calming phase (integration) where the most profound benefits emerge.

"I actually preferred your breathwork session to a lot of the meditation I have done in the past as I found I could truly connect with my breath and forget everything else, something which I have found difficult when meditating."
